Am frühen Sonntagmorgen (26. April 2014) brachte Cammee, unser Waisenkind, ihr erstes Fohlen zur Welt, einen dunkelbraunen Sohn des Hibiskus.
Ich habe immer gezögert, die Stuten decken zu lassen, weil ich befürchtete, sie könnte nicht normal auf ein Fohlen reagieren. Immerhin war sie selbst ja als Flaschenkind groß geworden. Während der Geburt erfasste sie leichte Panik, aber als das Fohlen da war, mutierte sie zu einem völlig anderen Pferd. Ich glaube, sie ist eine der besten Mütter, die wir je hatten.
Wir sind ganz begeistert von ihrem eleganten, langbeinigen Sohn. Als Erstling ist er bemerkenswert groß. Sein Vater Hibiskus hat ihm eine Menge mitgegeben - Kopfform und Bewegung tragen klar seine Handschrift. Er ist ein sehr freundlicher und neugieriger Kerl - und er hat jetzt schon diese besondere Hengst-Aura.

Early on the morning of Sunday the 26th of April, 2014 Cammee our orphan gave birth to her first foal. She gave birth to a dark brown colt from Hibiskus.
I always hesitated to having her covered always anticipating on how she would react to a foal, as having been raised more or less on the bottle herself. She did kind of panic during the Labor, but as soon as her foal was there she changed to a new horse. I think she is one of the best mothers we have ever had.
We are absolutely delighted with her elegant long legged colt. He is surprisingly big considering he is her first foal. He has a lot of Hibiskus in him as far as the form of his head goes, as well as the way he moves. He has the stallion aura about him, he is very friendly, and curious about everything.
